In spite of an ever-brightening economic outlook, a number of asset management companies are continuing to outsource their administration in order to mitigate high staffing costs.
In light of this growing trend, Fundamental Software has joined forces with Johannesburg-based outsourcing firm, Global Asset Administrators (GAA), to offer their market-leading Fundamental Portfolio Manager (FPM) software to this ever-expanding market.
Fundamental’s renowned software effectively utilises current technology to provide a unique and versatile end-to-end platform, from which investment portfolios, client relationships and processing tasks can be effectively managed.
Smaller asset management companies looking to focus on their core strengths will now also be able to benefit from this market-leading technology, something which was very important to Fundamental’s CEO, Craig Arenhold.
“Whilst technology such as FPM is certainly reducing the need for highly skilled technical staff, certain companies - particularly 2nd tier entities - are able to save substantial costs through savvy outsourcing,” explains Arenhold.
“Our goal in partnering with GAA is to provide these companies with access to our product offering, and allow them to focus on the essentials of their business, whilst their administrative and reporting responsibilities are effectively handled by GAA.”
Since the finalisation of the partnership in late 2011, GAA’s client base has steadily increased, with many of the country’s portfolio management consultancies looking to have their administrative undertakings managed using Fundamental’s well-established software offering.
“Being the sole third party provider of FPM has been an incredible boost for our business,” says Craig Sampson, GAA Managing Director.
“The software really is unrivalled in the market, and its ability to provide real-time transactional data and integrated reporting is truly unique. Additionally, the fact that FPM is a locally developed solution affords us direct access to the actual software developers, and thus allows us to adapt quickly to the needs of the South African market.”
Arenhold was quick to echo Sampson’s sentiments. “We’re very excited to explore a new and diverse market, and pleased to be working with GAA in the implementation and management of outsourced FPM software solutions throughout the country.”
