Zambia's inflation rate inflation quickened slightly to 6.7 percent in June from 6.6 percent in May and food prices are becoming a global concern because of a scorching U.S. drought.
"Inflation is projected to remain close to its current level of around 6 percent in 2012," the IMF said in a statement issued late on Thursday.
The IMF said the Zambian government should remain vigilant to inflationary pressures and tighten policy if needed.
