SME Incubation Centre Launched in Mitchells Plain

SA govt launches R37.5mln biorefinery development facility in DurbanSilulo Ulutho Technologies, in partnership with Vodacom Business, launched the Silulo Business Incubation Centre in Mitchells Plain on Friday, 13 April 2018.

The partnership will work to help SMEs become fully digitised and thus enhance the productivity of their businesses.

Through the use of technology and the Vodacom Business product suite, Silulo hopes to transform and digitise SMEs in South African townships and empower and create opportunities for entrepreneurs in communities such as Mitchells Plain and the broader surrounding areas.

The Silulo Business Incubation centre will amongst other offerings, give Mitchell’s Plain township-based entrepreneurs a space to incubate their business ideas, and grow their businesses with the aid of the centre which has a targeted focus in development through entrepreneurship education, mentorship and training and various service offerings for SMME’s.

Luvuyo Rani founder of Silulo Business says the incubation centre is made up of an 18 seater co-working space in the Watergate Mall. Entrepreneurs making use of this space will have access to Wi-Fi, a professional business environment from which to operate, as well as an invitation to attend targeted monthly networking events. Business mentors will be on hand to act as credible sounding boards for ideas and initiatives.

“The incubation centre also offers a multi-purpose training centre for dedicated workshops aimed at delivering practical entrepreneurship education to the entrepreneurs and interested community members,” says Luvuyo.
